Description
The Hardscape Apprentice/Journeyman is experienced in hardscape and masonry construction and different installation methods. The candidate is responsible for a variety of tasks to assist with the completion of hardscape and masonry projects. The position requires the use of various hand tools, power tools and various other equipment to complete both hardscape and masonry projects. The project types include the construction of paver patios, paver walkways, masonry projects, retaining walls, etc.

Responsibilities
- Install paver patios & walkways; stone, wood, or block retaining walls.
- Operates a variety of mechanical equipment, which may include skid loaders, backhoes, plate compactors, stone grinders, drills, gas and electric chop saws, demolition hammers, and jack hammers.
- Operates automatic vehicles, such as dump trucks and trucks and trailer combinations.
- Move & transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, manual lifting, machinery, etc.
- Perform other manual duties as needed and maintain a clean work site.
- Follow directions from Hardscaping Foreman.
- Communicates with coworkers and customers in a polite and courteous manner.
Qualifications
- Must possess a great attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Retaining wall, walkway, patio, and outdoor kitchen, masonry installation required.
- Operate / use all landscape tools & equipment effectively.
- MUST have a valid drivers license
